Introduction and content
Welcome to the first module of your learning journey! In this module, we will dive into a comprehensive exploration of essential topics designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the dynamic landscape of applied research in Vocational Education and Training (VET).
Applied research is focused on applying the latest knowledge and technologies in the creation of useful products, services and processes. It often involves prototype development, feasibility studies, clinical trials, as well as technical consultation and market research for business, industry and community partners. Applied research is both different and complementary to basic research, which is primarily focused on the discovery of new academic knowledge through the investigation and proof of new theories and principles.
All courses within this programm had carefully been curated within the scope of the project Challenger. All courses are designed and developed by professionals from prestigious VET providers.
Module 1 will offer opportunities to refine problem identification and ideation skills, guiding you through the design thinking process to effectively conceptualize and develop innovative solutions. Additionally, you will have the chance to explore relevant digital tools, gain knowledge on how to leverage technology to streamline processes and enhance productivity in your entrepreneurial endeavors. Furthermore, the module will place emphasis on the cultivation of crucial soft skills such as communication, motivation, and teamwork, recognizing their importat role in driving entrepreneurial success. Through a combination of theoretical insights and real-world case studies, you will emerge equipped with the skill set necessary to thrive in the dynamic and competitive landscape of entrepreneurship.
This module is just the beginning of your learning journey. As the first of three modules, it lays the groundwork for further exploration and specialization in the field of applied research in VET. By the end of this module, you will not only have acquired valuable insights and skills but also be prepared to delve deeper into advanced topics and challenges in the subsequent modules 2 and 3.

This course is offered for free. If you registered for participation and passed the multiple choice tests at the end of every course, you will receive a confirmation of participation in the form of a digital badge. After completion of all courses of the module, you will receive an innovation certificate that will prove your experience and gained know-how.

General aim of this course
Through the duration of the module 1, you will develop your entrepreneurial mindset, understand the significance of innovation, foster problem identification and ideation skills, master the design thinking proces, grasp news on relevant digital tools, and develop crucial soft skills like communication, motivation and team work.
